Budapest: Hollywood Gun Range Shooting Package

Budapest’s Hollywood Gun Range package gives you a supervised turn at firing real firearms, from a Ruger .22 to larger weapons listed in the package details. A range master walks you through safe handling and target shooting, so you do not need prior experience or a firearm license.

I like two things here: the close guidance for first-timers and the chance to try several different weapons in one short session. The instructors are often praised for clear directions and a relaxed sense of humor, with Daniel and Brent among the names mentioned.

One point needs checking before you book: the weapon lists in the activity details do not match. The listed package includes a Ruger P10/22, Scorpion Evo, UZI, CZ Bren, and AK-47, while other descriptions name different firearms. Confirm the exact lineup with the provider, especially if one particular gun is the reason you want to go.

The useful details at a glance

• Five firearms are listed in the package: The included list names a Ruger P10/22, CZ Scorpion Evo, UZI, CZ Bren, and AK-47, with 60 shots in total.
• A range master stays with you: You get safety equipment, instructions, and pointers on your shooting as you go.
• It takes about an hour: The session is indoors, at Holló u. 6 in central Budapest.
• No license or experience is required: You must be at least 18 and meet the activity’s health and weight restrictions.
• The price is $123 per person: Transportation to the range is not included, and extra shots or weapons may cost more.
• The format suits couples and small groups: The focus is on guided shooting, not a long lesson or a sightseeing tour.

At Holló u. 6, the action starts indoors

The meeting point is Holló u. 6, with a direct entrance from the street. A coffee and barber shop is across the road, and the entrance is next to an arcade. That description should help you spot the door, but transport to the range is your responsibility.

Inside, you meet the range master and get the safety equipment before handling a firearm. The session is described as lasting about an hour. Its itinerary labels the hour as a safety briefing, but the activity also includes shooting, so the exact split between instruction and time on the range is not specified. If you are arranging another booking right afterward, leave a little breathing room.

The instructors speak English, Spanish, and Hungarian. English-speaking participants have described clear directions, and first-timers have found the staff patient. That matters here: a firearm range is not a place where you want to guess what to do. You should expect the range master to explain each weapon and show you how to hold and fire it before you take your shots.

The activity is wheelchair accessible, according to its details. If you have a specific access need, check the arrangements with the provider before you go, since the general accessibility note does not describe the range layout.

Safety comes before the first shot

You do not need a firearm license or previous shooting experience. That makes this a straightforward way to try a range session in Budapest, but it does not make the activity casual in the safety sense. You are handling real firearms, and the range master’s instructions are central to the experience.

You receive safety equipment and a tutorial, then get an introduction to each weapon you try. The instructor can show you how to hold and fire it and offer feedback as you aim at a target. Several participants have particularly appreciated the staff’s patience with beginners. If you have never held a gun, say so plainly; the package is designed to accommodate first-timers.

The tone sounds friendly, sometimes funny, but the practical value is the clear instruction. People have named instructors including Daniel and Brent, and Daniel in particular has been praised for explaining the process and keeping the atmosphere light. Those names are not a promise of who will lead your session, so treat them as examples rather than a booking guarantee.

The activity is not suitable for pregnant women, people with heart problems, people with epilepsy, anyone under 40 kilograms (88 pounds), or anyone over 80 years old. Participants must be over 18. These are specific restrictions, so check them carefully before paying.

The firearms and round count need a quick check

The package’s included list names five firearms and a total of 60 shots: 20 with the Ruger P10/22, 15 with the CZ Scorpion Evo, 15 with the UZI, 5 with the CZ Bren, and 5 with the AK-47. That is a varied set for a one-hour session, with most of the rounds assigned to the first three weapons.

But the descriptions do not agree on the exact lineup. The overview highlights an M4 and Scorpion Evo. The highlights mention an AK-47 and Ruger P10/22. Another passage lists a CZ 512 Tactical, AR-9, Scorpion Evo, M4, and HS VHS-2. The included list names the Ruger, Scorpion, UZI, CZ Bren, and AK-47. These may reflect different packages or updated options, but the details do not explain the difference.

For that reason, do not assume every gun named across the page comes with your $123 booking. Ask the provider to confirm the firearms and ammunition included in the exact package you plan to book. This is especially useful if you have your heart set on a particular model, or if you are comparing this package with a more expensive one.

The activity also mentions optional extras. One participant was offered a revolver for an additional fee, while another chose to pay for more rounds. Those choices may be available, but the listed price does not include them. Ask about the cost before agreeing to an add-on.

What the one-hour session feels like

You arrive at the range, meet the instructor, and get your safety equipment. The range master explains the basics and introduces the firearms before you begin shooting. The session is designed to be hands-on: you aim at targets, fire your allocated rounds, and get pointers intended to help you improve.

The appeal is the contrast between the different guns, not a promise that you will become a marksman in an hour. You get a short introduction and practical time at the firing line, with an instructor there to help you make each turn safely. If you are new, the guidance takes away much of the guesswork. If you have shot before, you still get to handle a set of firearms that are not part of most people’s everyday lives.

The package is described as a Hollywood-style activity, but the range itself is an indoor shooting venue, not a film set. The fun comes from the real target practice and the sense of trying weapons you may have seen in movies. You can take pictures of the experience to share, and the target sheets can be taken home as a souvenir.

Do not expect a full-day outing. The activity lasts about an hour, and there is no transport included. Its compact length makes it easy to fit into a Budapest itinerary, though you will need to get to Holló u. 6 yourself.

Is $123 fair value?

At $123 per person, this is a special-occasion activity rather than a cheap hour out. The price includes the range master, safety equipment, target shooting, and the listed ammunition. In return, you get an instructor-led introduction and a chance to try several firearms without needing a license or prior experience.

The value depends on what you want from the session. If you are curious about shooting and want a guided, controlled first encounter, the instruction and multiple guns make the price easier to justify. If you only want a few shots or are chiefly interested in one specific firearm, check the round count and exact lineup first. The differences in the descriptions make that a sensible step, not nitpicking.

Also budget for getting to the meeting point, since transportation is not included. Any extra rounds or optional weapons may add to the cost. A clear question about the package total before you go will help avoid surprises.

Who will get the most from this range visit?

I would put this on the shortlist for an adult couple, friends, or a small group looking for an activity that is very different from Budapest’s usual museums, baths, and river views. It also works for a birthday treat or a short afternoon plan, as long as everyone in the group is comfortable around firearms and meets the stated restrictions.

It is particularly suitable for beginners. You are not expected to arrive with experience, and the instructor provides a safety briefing and practical help. The atmosphere described by past participants is welcoming and often humorous, which can make a first session feel less intimidating without taking away the need to listen closely.

It is less suitable if anyone in your party falls within the excluded categories, dislikes handling firearms, or wants a long technical course. The session is short, and its purpose is a guided shooting experience rather than an extensive firearms class. Anyone seeking one particular gun should verify availability in advance.

Before you book

You can reserve now and pay later, and cancellation up to 24 hours in advance is eligible for a full refund. Starting times depend on availability. The provider is Churchill Lövész kft, and the listed location is Holló u. 6.

My practical advice is simple: confirm the exact firearms, shot counts, and any extra fees before booking. Then arrive ready to follow the range master’s directions and treat the session as a supervised introduction, not a free-for-all. If that sounds like your kind of hour, the combination of hands-on instruction and several firearms makes this a distinctive Budapest activity.
